The sun impregnates the earth with its rays, and the god tlulo released the rain. The blood of the gods who sacrificed themselves at the beginning of time to create life on earth was equated in aztec cosmology with blood. Life hid from itself in progressively larger and more adaptable arms until finally a creature destined to rule woke up what it meant for him.
