The Importance of Data in Policing
I think this is one of the best examples of exactly why police cannot produce safety in a community because of the sort of fundamental relationship of economic extraction that we know just permeates the United States. And I want to also focus on police war because police also tell us something about data that when we look at abolition in institutions is actually not as obvious. So, you know, police manufacture a certain kind of society through surveillance, containment, control, caging, exclusion, but also just abandonment.
