The Importance of Real-Time Telemetry for Astronomy

The lower the altitude of the satellite is, the more quickly it passes into the shadow of the Earth. So if you know that a satellite is going to fly through your field of view, you just stop gathering your data for one-one hundredth of a second. And so if you got a much better communication between the satellite operators and the astronomers, you could make most of this interference go away. I really wish that these conversations were had before these giant megaconstellations were launched.
