There's nuance that AI would miss, they're only as good as the information they're fed. Media literacy is the kind of biggest casualty of the internet and this is what perpetuates a lot of misinformation online because people just don't check their facts at all or look to reputable sources. I get so frustrated when I see someone just writing a fact that sounds like it could be good and then in a few clicks like, "Oh no this is total nonsense" We published a paper March 2021 showing how shifting people's attention to accuracy can actually reduce the spread of misinformation which is really nice.
