The Problem With Nomenclature

The first presidential candidate I ever voted for was Andre Maru, who was running on the libertarian ticket in 1992. Some people take the word libertarian to mean something kind of conspiracy theory and QAnon adjacent. It's because the labels are, they interact with political tribalism in in unproductive ways. And if I were a Republican, I would be more embarrassed to call myself that now than 20 years ago.
