The Second Study on Aspiration in the Lower Oesophagus

This is one of the earliest studies in space, and certainly started raising the question of whether or not elemes were increasing the risk of aspiration. The second study we have dovetails nicely this first paper, because they used the conclusions of barker and colleagues to explore some potential mechanistic explanations. And that leads us nicely into our next study which was published by owens at all three years later in anesthesiologists' journal Rabi.
