The Importance of Core Inflation
The average monthly price change from January to May is 0.24% per month on average. So I'm saying that headline inflation this year is under 3%. Well, it is. It clearly is. The question is, does it come down far enough? That's the question now and we don't know yet. And monetary policy acts next year, right? Most people have one conversation per year about wages. Once a year in a pay, you know, the minimum wage is set up once a year. Of course data does have some surprises - but they're not going to stop us raising interest rates any further.
