Male Intimacy Is a Core Structure for Storytelling

I think when I read that research, it opened up a lot for me because I felt extremely connected to these young men on the paper. And we live in a world in which masculinity and intimacy seem so often to be concepts that aren't brought together. We are so unused to seeing intimacy that is platonic and that is not about sex. There are a lot of films, certainly a lot of American films, but also plenty of European films, Asian films, African films, about male friendship. They very rarely do the thing that you're talking about.
