Why Do You Feel the Need to Cite This Book?
They build up this idea of the indigenous critique, that there were a sort of various indigenous intellectuals who all made a similar, consistent criticism of western society. And they say at one point, this was a shock to sist them. This was like such a dramatic challenge to the thoughts and assumptions of these europeanswho were completely steeped in hierarchy and a deference. They seem, again, it's this sort of slight of hand, like if you question, a the authenticity of this indigenous critique, you must be a racist who thinks that indigenous people are stupid.
