Right leaning socialists hoped to create a new kind of democratic consensus, which was not exclusively rooted in the soviets. This hastily convened meeting took place just two weeks after the cornelof affair taking place in petrograd between september twelfth and september fourteenth. An amendment was passed nearly unanimously that excluded from the government any one associated with thecornelof affair. But then there was a second amendment on whether or not to exclude the cadet party in its entirety. When the vote was taken, the amendment passed.
