"There is always some margin in every message that I prepare, that I feel is unprepared," he says. "I actually had to get to the place in my own life where I read a Bible without any notes in it because the notes just, I want to follow the notes and I end up in study when really I'm just trying to reflect directly on the word" He adds: "This is something that the Lord has just kind of taught me for me in these 20 years"
