Apple's new lennox software doesn't need a binary blob to work. Apple could have done that at the firmware level, but they chose to do it at the hardware level. The company is building its own custom m one base servers for their eye cloud data center. They're not going to want to run on maco s on five thousand m one servers. That's ridiculous.
