The Blue Checkmark in Gmail Is Exploiting Scammers
Security researcher Chris Plummer found a bug in Gmail that allows scammers to bypass the system. The blue checkmark is part of the brand indicators for message identification or BIMI. It's an email standard that lets you add a brand logo to authenticated messages sent from your domain. To trademark your logo, we're talking about like one to two year process and it's expensive.
