Is There a Microbe That Eats Viruses?

A researcher from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln wanted to know if there were any microbes actively eating viruses. The team added a large amount of chlorovirus to each sample, which is a freshwater virus that infects green algae. And for the next few days, they monitored the microbes and the viruses to see what would happen. DeLong: Everything should want to eat them because that diet could support not only the physiological growth of a person, but the population and growth of a community.
