The Adventures of a Lifeboat Captain
Shackleton and his crew are stranded on a tiny strip of beach in Antarctica. They have no food, shelter or hope of being rescued by passing ships. Shackleton proposes they adapt one of the strongest lifeboats for a voyage to an island 13 hundred miles east of cape horn. He will lead a crew of six to the whaling station there and summon help for the others. Of the three lifeboats, the james card is selected as the strongest for the voyage. If they haven't arrived at south georgia by then, they'll be dead anyway. Each morning he goes to the top of the hill hoping to see a rescue ship coming over the horizon. Every day is
