Miyazaki is eventually making us sort of historical melodrama which opinheimer or no one is not interested in but patches does it so brilliantly and with such sort of devastating devastatingly bittersweet ways. The film tries to broker a piece between the need to create and the destruction that can result from it. i visited heroshema on the anniversary of the nuclear bombing on august 6th 2009 and was very moved by the overall spirit of that event because if the tables had turned and been dropped on america certainly i think you would go pro-harver at some point.
