The Ego and Trophy Hunting

In some of the sonarios that we've talked about, there's this kind of mystical connection between the ego and the unconscious. And in other senarios, it's more about kind of the ego dominating, which is not necessarily always a bad thing, although it can be. I'm thinking about the book moby dick and captain ah ahab's pursuit of the white whale. That is, i think, a sort of metaphor for a sort of a pertrophied ego, attitude of dominance. Part of the dominance also has to do with status,. i would imagine, terms o began the trophy hunting because there's a personal experience of finding a particularly magnificent animal.
