Prayer is a petition of practical reason directed toward god. When we reason speculatively, we aim at knowing the truth. Practical reason is thinking about how to accomplish things. And that is the workings of grace and the holy spirit in prayer. So saint thomas aquinas has far more to say about prayer. Than we could possibly discuss in just the conferences that we have for week end.
