Is There Any Alternative to Death?
This is like an inflection point in her life and in her narrative in this book. This is the moment when she has to really decide what she she can do. And she has no alternatives really. Still, the only alternative for maria at the time was to die or to become what she ultimately became. Ahem. Yes, i thought some ways this paragraph kind of ecapsulated her whole being. Ya, i think it does ecaptulate who mari is.
