I'm Not Sure That We Have to Go Back to Nation States

Without a sense of national identity, we don't feel that social contract. It's possible that nation states won't be nearly as important 50 years from now. We can certainly see what we would lose by losing them but it's hard for us to see how much we'd gain. There may be some way forward - I wouldn't put my money on it. But there could be something elseta.
