Growing Up, I Feel Like My Parents Didn't Have Good Intentions

i feel like the process of growing up requires you to hold seemingly contradicting ideas simultaneously in your head. But just because i felt neglected doesn't mean my parents didn't have good intentions. And so that's why a lot of us grow up feeling pressured to really excel in our academics. I was just, i knew that that's what they wanted, that's what made them happy. So it'si o, like that's my job as a student, as a daughter, right now. That was kind of my mentaligy.
