The Servants of God's Elect, Who Is to Condemn?
The suffering servants should be seen as being in continuity with the prophets, and not mere as a royal sufferer. If the lord is with him, what adversary or accuser could ultimately be successful against him? No matter how many or how powerful his opponents, they cannot withstand the sovereign power and justification of the lord himself. The apostle paul almost certainly alludes to this passage in romans chapter eight, verses 31, 34. In stark contrast, those who kindle their own fires, seeking alternatives to the law's vindication in idolatry, sorcery, trust in worldly powers and other such things are warned that they will end up in torment.
