The Gliders of the Sicily Invasion

Operation husky, which is Sicily invasion was fundamentally a British operation. They realized very quickly the Brits did not have enough gliders they didn't have the train tow crews. So they brought aboard a number of glider pilots from America to train in the CG four A's. Another complicating factor about husky was General Montgomery changed the gliders mission at the last minute he turned it in.
