The Warlock's Daughter, the Little Elf
The warlock sits in a chamber of old stone banded with black iron. Before him is opened a book, not just any book, but the book he worked so hard to steal from gorson and shelsani and bobbidin the bright. The translation is coming slowly, like dripping water wearing away strong stone. But it's coming. And once it's complete, the power will be his. He hacks out a mouthful of black bile and spits it into an ornate jar. His wilderwood is exulting, and the song of it makes him sick.
