19 95 study involved forty five pre schoolers who were asked to answer some number conservation problems over the course of several testing sessions. Research suggests that reflecting on how an expert might explain or approach a challenging problem, and thereby thinking more deeply and creatively about the problem, does seem to enhance the learning process.
