The Selfish Gene

The notion of god being the provider of morality was stripped back very strongly by darwin. Canyou: It's a rather odd idea that er that one needs religion to be to be right, to be righteous. The selfish gean simply means that those diena codes that survive are the ones that survive. Any diana code that goes out of its wayto help another one is unlikely to become more numerous in in the genp so at the level of the gean, we expect selfishness. So we have a picture of selfishness at the genetic level, which may or not program altruism at the individual level.
