The Therapeutic Aspect of Therapy
The word therapy comes from a Greek word for nurse, I believe that's right. To be therapeutic actually isn't really to be particularly nurse-like necessarily. It's more to sit with somebody at their side and say, how do we make sense of it? Maybe there is something in the notion of religion as an encounter with something other, different,. greater, stranger, that makes us humble and forces us to learn. But nonetheless, you need a container, you need something to hold you to be accompanied by qualities of love and compassion and kindness.
