CHAPTER

Is It Better to Be at 145 or 135?

Sodium is aimed at maintaining a stable blood sodium concentration for, I guess, what we would consider the ideal fluid replacement. We don't have any suggestion or any evidence that a particular blood sodium concentration is going to be more ergogenic than another as long as it's within the normal range. And so all of that modeling data was basically looking at the start and end blood sodium being 140 millimoles per liter,. which is like smack bang in the middle of quite unquote the normal clinical range. There's no data to indicate that any of that is any better than the other.
