The First Plot Point in a Story

The antagonist character will also be facing an inciting event of sorts, although he may not realize it. The first plot point signifies the moment at which the protagonist and antagonist become fully engaged with each other in pursuit of their mutually exclusive goals. In stories that feature big bads, the antagonist and the protagonist may not physically meet until the climax,. But the protagonist will at least begin encountering significant antagonistic proxies who represent the main antagonist's interests to achieve them.
