The Sutra Baths' Midlife Crisis

Sutra baths opened in 1894. It lost money from the day it opened. In 1934, Adolph Sutra hired Tom Bratton as a locker attendant to help him make ends meet. The family tried for four years to sell and get rid of the property. By 1952, Entertainment Tycoon George Whitney bought it. He tacked on more amusements such as an ice rink and Sky Tram.
