Open store from the very beginning has been conceived and executed on as a data first engineering first project. The original group who started out the effort are primarily data scientists, engineers, product people. We're building our organization with a technology mindset with the expectation that we're going to need to scale like we're building for scale in this space. And so that data problem in its own right, we think has unlocked the automation and the scalability as well as the accuracy of an M&A process that benefits both us and the merchant.
Andrew Campbell sits in a unique position: he's the Head of Data Science at the most ambitious project in all of ecommerce, OpenStore, which means he's thinking about ecommerce data & how to automate operational processes from a perspective that no one else is.
