The Old Grammar of English

In English, verbs have three different stems depending on what follows them. There's something called the pre-nominal which means that a noun that is prosotically attached will follow. And there are eight auxiliaries that are sucked in and become part of the verb complex as well. In addition to all of this stuff we've been talking about, subject, object marking, as it coming before and down,. different kinds of prefixes indicating tense and dependency things.
