Morality in the 21st Century

CHAPTER

The Definition of Freedom Is Abundance of Restraint

Young people are kind of commitment averse. They don't want to undertake that long term vow because they've been taught to live in the moment and the power of now. So much of our lives is determined by what definition of freedom we have. David's concern is about the superficiality of what counts to day as happiness. Have we lost our moral vocabulary? Do words like meaning, or fulfilment or soul make sense any more? I asked our student from graveney school what they thought. Could you make sense of his remark about the difference between the self and the soul? Speak to you.
