The Importance of Understanding the Black Man
There was a curfew that had gone into effect. The mayor, Irkisha Lance Bottoms delivered a speech flanked by local musical artists and she gave a speech where she said, if you care about this city, go home. We watched the video together and we both cried. That was really surreal because I don't know, 10 miles away from us, there was this protest happening and destruction and also cries for justice.
