I don't see that Conservative MPs can let this go on for too much longer. The Tories may well, as you say, in their very flexible approach, find themselves a new leader. But what remains for people in the country is their mortgages have gone up. There's going to be an enormous round of industrial action teachers yesterday saying that they're going to ballot for industrial action. Real post-workers already are the railways, nurses, and almost certainly junior doctors. It's going to been an incredibly tough winter, cost of living, inflation, which we haven't talked about recently.
