The britons had fallen into a common trap in war. Their strategy didn't complement their tactics. They wanted to bleed the forces of rome and force them from the island. But they did need to engage them on that level in order to accomplish their goals. Despite their superior numbers and clear athletic ability, the britons could not break caesar's men. And soon it was the brits who turned and fled.
