The Importance of Balance in Running
The reverse linear periodization model is the inverse of what Steve just talked about. As an athlete gets fitter and adapts, we build first myochondria function and then build content. When you do a polarized model with a lot of volume, if your running mechanics aren't sound, that's the road to really rapid injury development or overuse injury.
