What Does Freedom Mean to Hegel?
Hegel says realizing your true self is to realize that you are an aspect of a collective, absolute self. Hegel goes on to say that the collective absolute self is realized in the state and its plans and goals for the world. For a naturalistic ethic, have to be capable of moral agency,. And here's where volition, or free will comes in, the capacity for making choices. The difference between living and dying is a matter of choices and actions we a makean take.
