Derek and Colleen Thompson uploaded the DNA results to an ancestry website. They were able to identify a distant cousin of the summerton man. Derek says they compared the DNA to his wife Rachel, Joe Thompson's granddaughter. It turned out that she was not a match and not the summertonMan's granddaughter.
