The Power of Consciousness
Stanley Milgram conducted experiments to see how far people would go in order to shock a learner. He found that 65% of volunteers went all the way to the top and delivered 450 volt shocks, even though they were unconscious or dead. Why? It's simply because they were asked to; he wrote about it in his book "Obedience to Authority" Those who did not do this are those who have been raised with tough questions from an early age: we need to model them.
