The Inexperience of a Chita's Mother
It was reportedly about 46, 47 degrees Celsius in Kano when the cubs ended up dying. So do you think heat was a factor but then these are African Chita's when they used to this kind of heat in their native habitats? Yes, that's a good point of course. In Namibia, this is a very hot country. Also South Africa is hot but really degrees above 40 is rare and then it really becomes a problem. Of course, they are used to very hot situations but if the mother is not experienced, I really think this can be a problem that she just could not cope with it.
