Introduction

The title of the message is the power and the purpose of baptism. We're going to be talking about the two ordinances that jesus gave the church, which is baptism and the lord's supper, or communion. To baptize means to immerse somebody as they identify with something, a spiritual reality. In matthew three 16, it says when jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water. And in this service, we're going to get the privilege and joy of seeing a couple of people get baptized at the end of this service service.
