The Chinese Are Copying What We Have
The Chinese have been straightforwardly copying everything that has worked in the developed world. They might skip a few steps along the way, but they're copying all the same. What they are doing is called catch up growth and it was clearly from the liberalization of the Deng era. China started incredibly poor and is still barely a middle income country.
