The Poems of John Keats
The poet john keats, an early genius of romanticism, composed a poem sort of lamenting how robin hood had been forgotten. And the irony that you'll see, of course, is that the poem itself was part of a revival of interest in robin hood. In this poem he mentions the morris dance, which was a ritual dance performed during the may games and often involving people impersonating robin hood and friar tuck. He also mentions gamelin,. which was a tale, another verse tale, of an outlaw leader that dates back to the 13 hundreds, and in many ways is similar to robin Hood. So keats is kind of lamenting the loss
