The Black Country is a region of the West Midlands in England, just west of Birmingham. It's commonly refers to all or part of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsell and Wolverhampton. In the mid-19th century, there were many ironworking foundries and forges that produced a lot of black smoke. And also because of the coal mines that produced the black rock dust from under the ground.
A conversation with my (lovely) mum in which we generally witter on about a number of different things including some British history, ways of describing rain, different expressions for talking (like rambling and wittering), my mum's accent, what she thinks of this podcast and some of her podcast recommendations.
