The Importance of Visual Reconstruction
The human brain combines many, many neurons to regulate the overall behavior in such a way that it corrects for the behavior of individual neurons. That's why when you fixate a single point without making saccades, the whole world will turn gray after a while because your brain thinks that the neurons and your retina sending always the same result is basically burning effect or faulty pixels. So we are endowed with luxury vision because we are competing on the margins, not just this basic functionality. And then I think it was amazing sort of, you know, vivid reconstructions that we can have due to fairly limited amount of pixels in our eyes.
