All good first lines shock Broca, which is the part of your brain that filters signal from noise. So when you hear a word spoken in anger, somebody starts raising their voice and suddenly your attention shifts to danger. You have to make it different because if it's what people are expecting, they're not going to get it. Your first line leads to the second line, which leads to the third line.
