A team has gone nine up and nine down through the first three innings in a single season 18 times. The 1967 Reds set that record, but it doesn't look like they're going to break it this year. It really hasn't been the offense that's been the problem withthat A's team. I'm sure that the A's pitching staff has not had very many perfect three innings.
