In the past, 90% of humanity lived in poverty. Today is less than ten%. So why do we have such a distorted view of the past? Is it you were just short term thinking? Is it the negativety bias? The availability hereistic? Or are we just ignorant of our past and the way things were? Well, i do think all of those things. And there's very little that you can do about t except to know about them. We've been relatively prosperous only for the last 200 years. That's like zero, point zero, eight % of our time on earth. People generally aren't interested in history or economic history. It makes our job so much more
