In 19 67, westerns like bonanza and gun smoke were really popular. The perception of indigeneity at that time would have been very much locked in the past. So for me, that statement written so blatantly on the wall at a building, you know, that was there to celebrate the canadian centennial, it says something about the lineage of indigenous people on this land,. while also pointing forward.
